Ocean Science, Travel, and Digital Media and Communications

About Me

Hey friends! I’m a fisheries scientist, science communicator, and digital media strategist currently finishing my graduate studies in Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Sciences at Oregon State University. My research focuses on how climate change is impacting large reef predators and marine ecosystems, with the goal of supporting stronger fisheries management and conservation practices for species that are economically, ecologically, and culturally important. As a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow, I’m passionate about using science to better understand and protect our oceans.

Outside of academia, I’m the founder of JML Social Media Services, where I help brands and organizations tell meaningful stories through digital strategy, multimedia content, and community engagement. I love combining creativity with data-driven storytelling, whether that’s through social media campaigns, science communication, travel content, or educational outreach.

I’m also a big traveler and storyteller at heart. A lot of my life happens somewhere between the field, the airport, a camera lens, and a laptop. Whether I’m diving, creating content, speaking at events, or sharing my journey online, my goal is always the same: make science feel more accessible, relatable, and impactful.
